...Yep - there's not much you can't do with an electric bread knife and a can or two of foam contact-cement spray (..commonly avail. from your local sofa repair / re-upholstery shop..), ie:

...so easy, even 'Pretty Handy Girl' can do it, Lol...

    cheers..

Friendly tip - PL Welcomes new members with helpful 'resource links', *WHEN* they also, in-kind, contribute to this forum, especially via paid-subscriptions (..the 'blue' members...) ..this way, we all feel like such-like new-members are not joining simply to

I too, love pelican cases. For my foam-taming needs I use the following:

    1) the pick& pluck that comes with it. - CAREFULLY measure the size you want, pluck it out and then brush it lightly with CA glue and that stuff will hold up a lot longer.

    2) If you can get ahold of foam, use the pick and pluck to make a template, then get a piece of foam large enough to cut to fit and an electric carving knife ala jon's post. You can get cheapo electic carving knifes at most good hardware stores (think *ace* not *home despot*) and foam can be had by checking the yellow pages.

A competitor with Pelican who have some great products (Especially for tool management) are B&W cases. Similar pick and pluck, but they make some downright sexy tool cases.

Oh, and don't like the hard glued edges of the pick and pluck, or the color of your foam? find some nice fabric and glue that shit to it! instant sexy-case!

we use the 1510 cases for our RGB's, they are small, light and easy to carry. I love them

@ masterPJ, I have a pelicase (1650) for sale which easily will fit your tower.

Sure, but USA is way cheaper. For example:

    Peli 1510 with foam inserts:
    http://www.peli-fachversand.de/epage..._Carry_On_Case : €202,9
    http://www.c2csafety.com/servlet/the...CK-CASE/Detail : $142,99 = €109,6

    That's about half price ...

You are now comparing excl vat pricing with incl vat pricing

the peli from fachverzand is 170,- and in the US 110. and what is 170 euro compared to your 3K projector.

add 60 euro shipping from the US and its the same price.

it's only the shipping of those big boxes is what makes them more expensive in the EU.

You will only save money if you ship a complete container with Peli's from the us.

Errr... peli cases are made in the EU as well ... I don't see why shipping from the US should be necessary
