well "impressive" can be fairly subjective... if you think that they will put more weight on the built complexity, you could try a dual colour or rgb setup. if you think they will value the projected show more, stick with one colour (green is highly visible) and try analog modulation, too

the way i think about it, a second, or third colour adds significantly to the cost and complexity of the built (moving mounts, dichroic filters, alignment issues and obviously a second / third laser module)

so, you could try and impress them with what will be projected and not with what has been built

but it all depends on your judgment on what will bring you more "points"
    "its called character briggs..."

Look at this... think rebuild or improve or maybe just a more exotic box and the rest of the work is mainly study.

Shipping from Scotland might be a problem though.

I am sure David will be willing to explain how most of it works if you can resolve the shipping thing.

    Cheers

So is 30kpps worth the difference??

or I just saw this one it looks set up.

So to get things straight I can use these with a Dac controller right?

    The more kpps the better.
    but the higher the price.
A higher kpps allows you to do more complex graphics, without having them flicker as much or not flicker at all then other galvo's

however it says how fast it scans at an angle so you need to keep note of that too.
overall: the more kpps you want, the higher the price

Also the wider you want to laser, the more kpps you need.
But also each galvo set has it's own max angle it can scan.
This is dependant on the mirror size.
The bigger the mirrors, the wider the angle however this again influences your kpps.

    and

seem identical when it comes to their specifications.

Which one would be a better pick? ( this is going to be the first hardware Im going to purchase ) Im planning on adding a riya multibus dac and spaghetti.

Maybe it should be added that 20 kpps is generally used for beam shows while 30 kpps is mainly for projecting graphic shows on the walls.

aras... with your budget, obviously the second one makes the most sense however, I think for your overall satisfaction and, potential resale if this isn't for you when the project is done, I'd opt for the first one. I tend to think scanners are where you want to concentrate a good portion of your budget because ultimately, that produces what you "see". It's kind of like stereos. Used to be the rule of thumb was spend 50% of your budget on your speakers because that's what produces what you hear. A $1000 turntable is still going to sound like crap on cheap speakers but, a $100 turntable is still going to sound damn good on quality speakers. The quality of what you see is really dependent on the quality of your galvos.
