    Default Once upon a connector

For trivia purposes, meet the REAL ILDA STANDARD CONNECTOR
This is the first one, the 1985 one. As far as I can tell, never repealed, just replaced.

Yes, a 37 pin Amphenol series I Circular Plastic Connector ! Handled 2 color scan heads at once! Shutter and RS232 Serial included.

Then some genius discovered 25 pin serial cable "printer switches" had 25 pins, making it easy to switch from ADAT to Computer for show control... The rest is history!

I just found my three ring binder of ILDA standards from 1989 or so.

Wow so this could have had become the current standard instead of the ilda LPT cable?

If you know the story behind this please explain.
It's almost bedtime and It would be nice to read a *perhaps* entertaining story.

Interesting. The D25 is much cheaper!

It could have been so much worse, they could have switched to SCART, DIN or Centronics!
    This space for rent.

Too funny,,, I was actually considering a 37 pin Amp connector for my next project over DB25. You get all those extra pins and I've always liked them on the argon supplies. DB25 is way weak compared to the circular amp connectors. Glad to know there is a spec for them. Thanks Steve!
