What, if any, is the best type of material to put over the laser output window of a projector...To keep the weather out , spiders ect...Some kind of glass? Dichroic type material?

I would recommend specifically AR Coated glass to minimize the reflections...
I generally look for surplus glass flats... You can detect the AR coating because
of a slightly purple hue to the reflections...
A cheaper source of glass is called "archival glass" and it's used
by museums to protect documents as such, it has a light coating
by design as well.
At times I've also used special round optics to correct problems like
beam divergence (due to bounce mirrors)...
You want to avoid "regular" glass because you'll suffer from a ghosting
problem from the internal reflections... (it'll show up as blurry or doubled
images)
Will i lose much power going thruough this AR glass? Could i buy a piece of it from you? Im looking for a piece about 4" sq....
