    Default Gobsmacked!!

    Totally gobsmacked by this one.

My current favourite Ministry video for effects:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Sp4dMa6yGQ

Lasers look extremely powerful but safe indoors. Then I found out, it actually appears to be an outdoor show and when you freeze some frames such as this white, look at the secondary illumination of the faces especially the woman with the white crunchie in her hair!

WTF. What powers are they using?????

    Unbelieveable!

Screen Grab that shows it appears to be an open courtyard:

..and you can appear to see the sky in other shots!

I'm not saying its unsafe, only the operators know if its within limits or not as video can be misleading, but it looks very bright to me and given the problems with outdoor shows, this looks very very powerful.

Looks VERY dangerous to me. Even people in the room/adience are covering their eyes.

    Default lem

dont look any worse than a uk-lem to me

that said looks a lot a power but cameras can make it look worse than it is
though they may need more than hoya optics to sort out their eyes out after that show
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

    I agree too.
And these beams are aimed at the audience too,
Something tells me the power was set waaay to high.
If it was overhead it would be fairly acceptible.. but this o.O

as has been said in many threads before dont judge how safe a show is from a youtube video.

you know no facts at all, so actually cant make any factual comments

Nope, but I think you can make some reasonably educated guesses based on experience...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I have multi watt lasers and a power meter that allows me to know what greater than MPE looks like based on a 7mm aperture, and more importantly, what a high power laser looks like at 10 metres and whether that is safe or not.

Yes, it can be hard to tell on video, but really sometimes its just bloody obvious.

Aside from the fact 'I' think that was over MPE, there is a lot of dwell on some of those images in the audience that doesn't really adhere to 'good practise' either.

But then I'm not trying to convince you Andy, or indeed anyone else. Other people's experience and opinion may lead them to other conclusions.

probably going to offend you but so what... i dont think that makes you an expert.

without any facts no one can make any factual comments regarding the safety of that show.

im going to go bed now and leave this thread alone i dont want to argue with anyone
