    Default eMachineShop

I found these guys today, thought I would share them with you.

This is a CAD package/CAM service business.

    1. Download their 3D CAD program
    2. Design your part(s) and click "quote"
    3. If your happy with the price, place your order.

Parts are then delivered to your door. Pricing isn't too bad if your into 50 or more quantities.

    Check it out: http://www.emachineshop.com/

I also used them for my first laser design.
The software they provide is good and easy to use but got some limitations (mostly due to machining restrictions) but helps to get a quick view (3D or 2D) of what you try to achieve.

Unfortunately the design I made was ...crap and I've managed to do every piece I needed after myself.

Just a bit expensive for a very small quantity, but once you get over 50 pieces that's perfect.

i have found them some time ago, i have played around with their software, which is quite easy to figure out and you can create some nice things, but i have not ordered anything from them, mainly due to cost/quantity restrictions

i'll have to second the machining limitations, for example, i could not get the thing to create M9 / 0.5 thread pitch to the desired depth

it is worthwhile only if you go for big quantities, but you have a variety of materials and finishing. well, if someone would like to take the plunge, he'd better let us all know, in case someone would like to chip in

if i am not wrong, there is a library where you can upload your designs for other people to review (or even buy directly from them)

In Europe we also have Shapeways. They don't do milling but do offer 3D printing, also in metallized plastic. Might be worth looking into, but the parts will probably require a little more post-processing than when you use milled parts.

I'll have a crack at something simple like an Aixyz module holder at both of them and see how they turn out.
