Long time no speak hope your all doing well. I'm
Looking for a little advice about my red laser diode. Basically iv finally got round to building my 3watt rgb with 1 watt green, 1 watt blue and 1 watt

There are 2 things I'd like to ask


1: is there anyone that can have a look at my green diode close to the Warrington area? It's very dim and I'd like to meter test it as well as look at why it's so dim if someone can service it? The first ever gig I had with it installed as a 1 watt green it was hugely bright but I'd not had time to install a fan, I thought it would be alright for 1 gig but I was very wrong. By the end of the gig it was pretty dim and it's been like that since. Anyone help at all?

2: I have a red laser wave LWRL635 diode and the beam is absolutely huge. The blue and the green are a fairly nice spot but the red is massive I'd say about 10mm x 10mm I wondering what options I have to reduce it down?

Are there no options at all? I thought optics could reduce beam size?
The green is a CNI module with large driver and power supply. Not got the exact model to hand. I can't just write off the red as it cost me a fair bit. I'm over exaggerating the beam size abit as it fully fits on a set of large mirror dt30s just.

nope none.

the only option you have is to split the beam in half using a mirror change the polarisation and then use a cube to combine it back in.

so if you have a beam of 8mm by 8mm you will end up with 4mm by 8mm.

so no great gain

whats your build like then ?
ie what sort of base plate is it all mounted on ?
did the green just over heat then?

The build so far is going great. I bought a big dipper F2000 when I knew nothing about lasers and was extremly disappointed with it from day 1. After a few weeks I wanted to send it back but decided against it. I kept it sat around not doing much until I decided to use it as a donor case. Don't know if anyone has seen it but the only good thing about the laser is the case.

The base plate is very thick for mounting the diodes onto, iv not measured it but I'd say at least 12mm, the diodes I'm putting in are a 1 watt o-like 445nm 1 watt blue modded with a die 4 drive, a 1 watt cni green 532nm and a 1 watt 635nm laser wave red.

I fired tge beauty up the other day after mounting everything and it looks absolutely stunning.
I have stupidly mounted tge scanner block too far back and the output is hitting the inside of the laser case so the block and dichros are going to need moving forward but once this is done I'll post some pics for you guys.

The White balance is way off though at the moment due to my dodgy green and massive red. I'm going to have to tinker with it abit to get it right but I'll get there

The green I think just over heated, I'm unsure really cause I kept checking the unit and it seemed fine all night but started getting dimmer and dimmer as the night went on. It's strange though cause it takes a century to warm up but gets pretty bright if you leave it on a warm up frame then put it on another frame and goes really dim again. It seems like tge modulation is all to pot.
