Post Advice needed for buying a Certified Laser Projector

First of all hello to everyone here at PL,

I've been browsing this forum for several days now and there's a ton of information here and I have been researching a lot. So to get to the point, I'm a DJ that's looking for a RGB IDLA Laser Projector between 1w-2w of power. I currently have two low end DMX RGY Lasers but I really want to expand into the better Lasers with graphics and awesome beam capabilities.

So basically I'm still new to all this information I've been trying to absorb it all and initially I was looking at Chinese Lasers on Ebay and had no clue about certifications and variances.

It was only after accidently stumbling upon this forum did I realize all that was involved with having a Laser show.

Mainly I do private parties but also want to be able to do public events and lighting shows for other DJs, bands, etc...

Therefore it's extremely important that I have a legal projector and the proper documentation (variance) to operate it.

I've been looking at KVANT and have asked CT Lasers for a quote but still haven't heard anything back from them yet.

Does anyone have a rough estimate at what I'm looking to spend in the 1w-2w range of the Spectrum Laser Projector? I found a price list online but it was from 2008.

If anyone could point me to other Certified Laser Projector companies I'd really appreciate it.

So far I had looked over the following sellers in the U.S.

    X-Laser
    CT Laser
KVANT @ the CT Laser site

Also I was wondering if there are "Legit" sources to buy from internationally that are legal in the U.S.

All I need is a point in the right direction and I'll do the rest.

    Thanks in advance,

    DJ Mike T

you also have to consider the Texas laser laws (Texas is one of the states that have their own regs as well as the federal ones )as well
i cant remember if Texas is only a fee or if they want training but it is one of the few states with extra regs along with AZ and NY

but for a fully FDA/CDRH certified projector mark at CT Lasers is your best bet

Tim Walsh, the ILDA chairperson is a Texan, so if you pop him a email he can tell you about the Texas fee structure. His web site is www.laserspectacles.com

    Thanks Marc,

Currently working straight nights on our Process Unit for the Chemical Corporation I work for, so it might be hard to get in touch via phone. What times are you available?
