    Default Blown scanner power supply...

My el cheapo (insert country of origin here) power supply for my DT-40 scanners just decided to release the magic smoke after only a few minutes of use.
Luckily, so far it appears that it died without taking the scanner amps with it... (fingers crossed ).

Anyone have any brand-name recommendations for a replacement power supply?
I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I would like to replace it with something with a history of decent reliability.

In the mean time, I guess I'll pop in another el cheapo (insert country of origin here) power supply from another set of scanners to get me by...

    Thanks!

I use and recommend the following:

    • Meanwell
    • XP Power
    • Astec
    • Emerson

I have in the past manufactured video matrix switchers using Astec supplies. I have recently serviced a bunch that came back from the mines up north, 10+ years and all Astec's are still ticking along nicely!!! BTW, HP have been using Astec in their laser printers for decades, for good reason.

I've used several Meanwell supplies in the past and never had any problems. Usually ordered them from Jameco.com which has always been a reliable source for me.
