Help with my RGB Scanner Please
I have a RGB scanner that was manufactured by a company in China (like most of them). I recently replaced all the lasers with much higher power lasers and it now has an acceptable output. 900mw 445nm blue / 250mw 532nm green / 650mw 650nm Red
My problem with this is with the "light show" itself. I want to see the "Barrel Roll effect" of color when this is modulated with an audio input. What I get is the internal program of pre-determined patterns being modulated by the audio. Not a very interesting light show in my opinion.
This has DMX and ILDA input/outputs which I have never played with.
Is there any easy way to get that "barrel roll" effect I am looking for without going to external DMX or ILDA control?
Thanks for any help..

No. There are no easy ways short of a external controller.

Inexpensive DMX or ILDA external control and software?
Could anyone direct me to the cheapest way to purchase a basic external controller to do this barrel roll effect?
I am not interested in displaying cartoon characters or text..
Just effective laser to music lights shows for my home use.

you need a DAC (Digital Analog controller)
and laser software
DMX will not offer you enough so you will need an ilda controller
(however these often have dmx option build-in)
These are some of the ones you can get :
-Pangolin Quickshow (FB3 DAC controller included)
Best bang for your bug, many features and affordable.
*look on the pangolin site for pricing*
Updates are free of charge
- Pangolin LD2000 (QM2000 DAC included or QM2000.net with additional cost)
Most software, many features and very professional.
They are kinda pricey but you also get MUCH in return, however if you are on a rather limited budget this is not suitable for you.
Updates are free of charge
- Mamba black and other mamba lasershow software.
(Can be bought with Mamba DAC, but normally comes with nothing *i think*, easylase dac for example can be bought seperate)
*not sure if upgrades are free*
- Phoenix Lasershow, (can be bought with a dac or custom dac)
*Updates are not free and can cost a lot
Pretty expensive
- Spaghetti lasershow ( very cheap but requires you to purchase a suported dac )
- Laserworld lasershow software.... *Don't buy this*
- Ishow lasershow software with dac *DO NOT BUY THIS REALLY!*
- LPT dac (needs to be build by you yourself or you have to search, still requires you to have lasershow software, supported by the free very limited popelscan or mamba
- Audiolase, needs to be build yourself or bought from someone, supported by some software and can be dangerous when not used properly *as in breaking your laser projector*
!Note! They all have their own software, quality comes at a price and it's often not cheap.
