Default Nate's Borg Cube Lightshow Projector Build...

    Hey everyone,
Here is the beginning of the projector I'm building for Nate, AKA VidalWolf. I dub it the "Borg Cube" also known as Photonus Minuscules. It's 7X6.5X7 and takes a 5W CW beam from a mixedgas ion and turns it into pretty coherent light displays that we all enjoy... Well, not yet... But that's the plan...

Figure A... Get all this stuff to fit into a tiny cube....

The mess... It get's worse... I'd work in my lab but it is so messy right now I feel better working behind my desk.

Far from done but here is where I finished tonight. I still have to finish the wiring and mount the bounce mirrors to prepare for tuning the PCAOM. After that I have to build the skin panels and the connectors.
    Enjoy!

I see you get the idea...

The photos look like shit. I took them with my crappy point-n-click. If anything looks warped or skewed... It's the camera. Gotta shoot some pics with the Nikon.

They look ok. I picked up a new Camera in Hong Kong last month, Sony NEX-5 twin lens kit. Still getting the hang of it, I do a lot of macro photography when reviewing products, this thing is not playing nice in macro mode and I have no idea why!!!!

BTW, what do Gay Borg say?

Okay, Give me the punch line...

Those NEX-5's are nice. I like Sony products. The new Nicon is fun but it takes too long to go downstairs and get it... LAZY! Here is my old SLR up for sale on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...STRK:MESELX:IT

Just wait... It gets worse when I finish the wiring. Though, it'll have good temp controlled airflow and fit like a glove.

Nice Olympus. Why are you selling? The reason I went with the NEX-5 is portability. I don't like to lump around DSLR when I am travelling. With the NEX-5 you attach the pancake lens and woosh, point and shoot nice and small. The NEX-5 all metal body is bloody nice too!

    congrats adam!!!

i'd like to point out the arrangement of the galvo driver boards. most people build their boxes as if they will never have to access the pots to tune the galvos.

your are actually prety much accesible! simple and practical ideas. i like it !!!
