Default Anyone here going to Burning Man?

Hey guys, been awhile, I know. This tour finds me too busy to do much more than sleep and mix (just ask swami and Sugeek).

Anyway, I relized that, for the first time, my schedule and funds will allow me to attend burning man this year! This is something I've wanted to do ever since I read the wired article back in '96. So I was wondering, since I'll be out there amongst 50k+ people, there's probably at least one Pl'er who heads out that way from time to time. If so, Let's plan here (I'm not bringing my lasers to the Playa - too much dust at the very least, but maybe we can have a laser-less BurningLEM anyway.)

Sweet! Where are you going to be? I'll come look for you.

Maybe I should put a giant on my tent.

attending burning man is one dream in itself for me and a few friends...

we are from Belgium though, and it would be hard to get there money wise (not to speak of making a project...)

have a lot of fun, and take pictures for us !!

This year should be a lot of fun. Check out this project:

There are TONS of laser systems lighting up the night on the playa. Count on dust, heat, hoola hoops and fire, all other expectations are best left back here in default reality.

I'm going, but what days I'm not sure of yet. We might have a gig in Winnemucca then, so I won't be far away as the crow flies. Somehow I will have lasers at Burning Man, or 15 miles away.

Too bad we don't have anything similar on our side of the pond. There were a few interesting projects at the Hacking at Random festival, but it wasn't as hardware-build-centric as BM.

I've been thinking up some ideas to get a European counterpart up, but I haven't really gotten around to it because I couldn't get enough people together to start a committee.
