    Hey Tony, just to get a grip on the actual scanner power requirements, I did a little test tonight with a set of DT30's.

    I fed the scanners with a tone source (sine and square) and measured the scanner current using a 0.1ohm resistor on the PSU DC common line. The following scope shots are as follows:

    Ch A (yellow): Drive signal (X & Y)
    Ch B (cyan): PSU current, 1mV = 10mA

    Square wave 1kHz: Peak 132mV = 1.32A (50% duty on each rail)

    I would suggest the +/-24 PSU supplied with DT30's has little to spare in terms of reserve. This being the case, you really need to ensure your solution provides a minimum of 1A on each 24V rail.

    This is the first time I have fired the DT30'd up, man they get hot quick when not bolted to a heat sink/plate!

    Hey Tony, I stumbled on this supply today, not sure if the size is too big for you but the rails and cost are favorable. Not to mention it's local. $19.

    +24V @ 3.5A
    +12V @ 3A
    +5V @ 1A

    Not enclosed, but you could fold a mesh screen around it.
