I think I know how Harold Camping could bail out if his prediction falls flat, and still come out smelling like a rose...

Remember king Hezekiah (2 Kings 20:1-11)? He destroyed all of the pagan idols in the land, followed the Lord, and that benefited his kingdom. He was stricken with a serious illness and the prophet Isaiah warned the king to get his house in order, because he was soon to die.

Hezekiah prayed and asked the Lord to remember his faithfulness and service to God. Isaiah returned to the king to tell him that God heard his prayer, and would add 15 years to his life.

Harold could claim to have called out to God at the last minute to remember all of the wonderful things that he and Family Radio have done, and that God has granted us all an extension...

I bet some of his groupies would buy that!

Just like the prominent evangelist a few years ago who claimed if he did not raise "X" million by "Y" Date God would call him home. When the time came, he was still here.
Guys like that makes it harder for those of us who truly wish to be anointed and serve God. Its difficult to be humble these days.
