    The 650nm 1Wit look as if the brightness approximate 635nm 300mw-400mw.
    The price also near 300mw-400mw 636nm.
    Beam <5mm?
    How many of the distance.?
    20CM or 20M is dissimilarity.

    So the 650 is a pretty deep red in comparison to the 635 orange red?

    635 nm from a diode looks close enough to the 632.8 nm of a HeNe that it's almost impossible to tell the two apart. 650 nm is a lot more recognizable as "red" vs reddish orange...

    I've been told by several people that the 650 nm red actually makes for better color combinations than the 635. (But you have to wonder if that's just built-in bias from everyone being forced to use 647 nm from a krypton ion laser as their source for red for the last 15 years...)

    In any event, I haven't set up one of my DVD diodes with a trichro yet to check the color mixing with 488 nm argon and 523 nm dpss, but I plan to do so in the near future. (I have done the mixing with a hene, and those colors looked pretty good to my eyes, so I'm curious to see the difference that the darker red makes.)

    As for this specific laser, the price sounds nice, but I agree with others re: the beam quality. The 5 mm beam diameter is bad enough, but at least you could up-collimate the other two beams to the same size and live with the larger spot size. But 4 mrad divergence??? Better have a *really* short throw, or else your audience will be able to tell that your red lines are 4-8 times wider than the other colors from your projector...

    Id have to say 650 to 660nm looks better...

    But I really think its a matter of opinion. some like orange, I do ! I like yellow too

    In the TV business we like having a true RED to go with the Blue and Green.
    Just looks better, not orangey all over.
    If you have ever set-up a television or projector CRT RGB bias and gain you can relate to this.
    Also, with a truer RED you can achieve a broader range of colors, just makes sense.
    Of course it all depends on what you use for the primary colors.

    Id have to agree on the 4 to 5mm beamwidth..thats very wide.
    Most of the power of the beam will be lost
    and If you are mixing other colors, with that divergence...Yeah gunna be tuff !!
