If laser beam of my system already in its beam waist (smallest width), but, if I'd like to make the width smaller, how could the laser head be modified?

Hello,
Welcome to PL
It depends on what your are needing and how far you need the beam to be small.
If its close to the laser... a simple lens may work
The use of a telescope/compressor comes to mind !!!
A collimator in reverse may serve the purpose..
If its a CO2 laser than thats a different story altogether...

Thanks marconi.
Does telescope/compressor work with solid state laser?
Yes it does... at least for visable up to 1064 YAG
Depending on the coatings used of course.
I use one for 532 green has a broadband coating..works great.
Look for : Collimator / Telescope / Expander or Compressor on ebay
And you may find what your after..They can be had cheap!!!
I seen an 8x on there for about 60USD ..
Used in reverse .. This may do the trick !!!
