New update posted 20120723: some live MasterBeam expansion added per request. More will come.

    Polished,
The RIYA 3 in one is an older unit, the new Multibus units I think have 16 lines, can check on that. No, it currently doesn't record from TTL lines, only output.

RIYA 3_in_1 have 16 TTL output and 16 TTL input lines.
RIYA Multibus Basic/Pro/OEM have 8 TTL output lines (only Basic/Pro models have not external (out-box) connector for it; these lines are on on-board connector only).

Ah, well that's good to know. Are the 3-in-one's still available to purchase?

Your'e welcome kl79, it's a pleasure as always. Let me know if you need any help figuring it out. Details on how to operate the new MasterBeam controls should be added to the user manual, too.

    Hi everyone,

I upgraded my LDS pro 2010 to LSX a few days ago

I come here with a few questions that I can't solve by myself :

1/ I plan to use a Korg nanokontrol2 to control the live effect. The problem is LSX midi settings, the soft recognize the MIDI keyboard (so I select it on the selection "MIDI input device"), but when I move knobs and faders, nothing happens in the MIDI message box. I set up the global channel to 16, I assigned manually the remapping of a few functionality (into the "MIDI remapping box"), once again, nothing happen... Someone has an idea?

2/ How can I assign a "key" to go on a specified time of the timeline by the computer keyboard?

3/ As LSX has one timeline for each output, how can I go at 10 seconds on the timeline1 (DAC1) when I press the keyboard key "A", and after a few seconds, I press the Key "B" and the timeline2 (DAC2) goes to 30 seconds to display an other frame? (the timeline1 is still playing the frame starting at 10 seconds on this timeline1).

Hope you understand what I try to explain

    Thanks a lot,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    - It has been a while since I used LSX with MIDI. I was planning to take out my MIDI keyboard anyway so I gave it a go. It appears you're right: MIDI doesn't work for me as well. My keyboard works fine in other software and gets recognised by LSX, but I don't see any output. This is definately a bug. I'm sure it worked fine in previous versions, so I better start yelling at the dr.

    - To set up a Live show, do the following steps:
Bring up the MIDI keyboard (the piano button)
Press a note while the show is not playing (if the show is playing you can double click as well)
Click the button "Set all keys automatically" in the window that pops up, confirm, and then click cancel
You now get a bunch of lines on the timeline, with a 1 second interval. If you play the show and press a note/key on your keyboard/button in the Masterbeam window, the show will loop itself between the corresponding line. You can't change which button or key corresponds to which interval on the timeline, but if necessary you can map the MIDI notes.
The length of the interval is always one second, but you can change the playback speed by setting the TimeCode to Live (Variable Speed). If you place a SetTimeSpeed event on the timeline you can change the playback speed (double click on the timeline, click More... and search for the SetTimeSpeed event). Alternatively you can use the rightmost slider in the Slider dialog window (Live >> Open new Slider dialog for Live control).

    - I don't think it's possible to control timelines independently.

here's a LSX show i just completed. i started out just playing with abstracts (it's like the best video game in the world), then decided to set some of them to music.

    enjoy!

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hi !

First of all, thanks colouredmirrorball for explanation

I come here with a big problem I try since 4 hours to launch LSX, and the soft says all the time "No licence".

How can this is possible?! Yesterday the soft worked correctely, today no.

The dongle works well, because I tried it with LDS pro and it is immediately recognized.

I re-started my computer (if a hidden program of LDS still uses the dongle), I re-copied the licence file.

ARRRG and I have a big event tomorrow and saturday !!

    Thanks,

    Michael

    What the HELL ?!!

I just plug once again the dongle into a different USB port (I do this +- 30 times till this morning) and guess what?

The soft works now ! (I checked all my usb ports with a storage key, they all work well)

I think I won't shut down my computer till tomorrow, only "sleep" mode

Two softs that call the same dongle on the same machine is going to be a issue.

Lesson learned a long time ago. Lasershow soft plus disk burning/recovery software is the only software on the laser show machine. No internet, nothing else....
