cool!!!, you seem to have a nice setup

As for posting pics, there's a row of buttons on the top, one is Img. Press this once, type the url for your pic, and then press it again. That should do it.

I'm interested in taking a look at your setup
Remember the future?, That'd today, as you imagined it yesterday.

    Dave... That is amazing.

I love the Lumia wheel, looks familiar, may I ask where you got it from?

Also, the Stepper motors like that I have seen are usually too fast, did you slap a gear box on it?

    Details, please!

hi, spec, actually its not a lumia wheel but a diffraction grating wheel with 20 different patterns (beam) etched around the perimeter, but you could easily put a lumia wheel on it instead. The steeper motor has its own small control board (mounted vertically in pic) and can be controlled by ttl or analogue. I am currently using analogue to rotate and select the diffraction patern. I purchased it complete so i don't think the stepper motor has to be geared down. i got mine from

    http://www.laservisuals.com/

where you can find details (uk), but i think you can also get from others like

    http://www.creativelaser.de/hardware...ssessories.htm

laser visuals also do their own usb / ilda output box and software called beam sculptor 3d, looks similar to mamba.

i'm really pleased with the set up, but i must get a more powerful laser, currently i've only got a 5mw greeny, i am waiting for a 100mw from china. Incidentally, do you know of any ttl blanking problems with units from china .

    Spec:

A stepper motor is only going to spin as fast as the microprosessor controlling it has been programmed to turn it, although the actuator looks like the medialas actuator, and im sure iv read of ppl having issues with the speed of the medials ones...

My first post! and i must say, what a fantastic site.
Dave, I bought a laser projector from LaserVisuals.com. Then, shortly after, a poly 20 diffraction grating (the same one as yours) together with the optical actuator. I was thinking of wiring up to the existing power supply for the scanners. How did you wire up your wheel

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.
