    wedding
And the dj uses the stuff the room has, meaning lights and music
    Its not a disco

Wedding, DJ, lights, music... sounds like a disco to me!

I can understand why big old lasers and beam table don't have hanging hardware, but in todays era, not having hanging hardware is simply a disability. Perhaps something to look at for the future. That said, I'm sure you'll do fine standing it on something. Still easy

I can't think of a single gig I've done to date where I could've done it without the ability to hang the projector.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Thanks.
Yes the flightcase is also way to big. After holidays in france im focussing on upgrading my projector with a new casing and with better modules and drivers.
Maybe buy a new one with divergence control so i can crowdscan.
You are unique! Just like everyone else...

Key to audience scanning is a power meter and a safety course.

I've never heard of a divergent adjustable projector this side of a home build. That said, lenses can help with divergence and are relatively simple to fit as they just need a holder manufacturing. I believe Minus 3 diopters or something similar (???) is around the usual. I'm sure someone with more knowledge in this area could confirm.

BQX, apologies, American wedding parties are a different affair from European parties.

First of all a dress can cost 6000$. The average out of pocket expense is 20,ooo$, billed to the bride's father.
Very commercial. Around here, a guest bringing the entertainment other then singing is a unheard of thing. You would most likely not be allowed to bring your laser, per the bride, least it be out of her control.

I've done one wedding to help a fellow who had no funding for his wedding. My postman, years ago, asked for help. I used a 1 watt ion system and Pangolin, and we borrowed a sound system. We strung up a scrim across his garage and rear projected. That was the good old days. It was probably the show I liked doing the best, of all I've done. Now, a wedding party here is a commercial affair.

    Being sarcastic, typical American wedding:

The bride starts mental planning perhaps when she is 10 years old. It is HER day, the men are along for the ride. Dresses are co-ordinated in color. She will lose one lifelong BFF on average over the choice of bridesmaid dresses. Fights will occur between the bride, the mother of the bride and the groom's mom over the choice of which mustard to serve. The wedding venue will be booked a year in advance. Even the flower girl and the ring bearer boy will have 500$ invested in clothes. Two months will be spent planning the EXACT course of events to happen in the 2 hours of the reception. Wedding guests will be asked to wear clothing matching the bride's two tone color scheme. The DJ will provide a playlist for approval. Men are told which tuxedo to rent. DJ's and photographers get sued over minor events like playing the Bach Partita in B Minor instead of the Partita in D Minor. Don't get me started on the custom vows. Bridezilla is the term of choice.

These days, over here, its not a wedding, its a circus.

PS, you must be careful, the father will be looking for a drunken guy he can stick daughter number two with. The next to last wedding I attended, the father and mother had a private party, off to themselves, they were so glad to be rid of her. Daddy dropped hints about unit two even to me.

I assumed you had a commercial show, and a US style wedding. My bad.

What laser diode in the laser unit,it`s the decision of customer. What we did, just to fulfill their requirement. If they think, that`s enough, whatever advice is unavailable, right?

Quality and price are direct proportion.
Understand! Space lily..... This thread is about BorgqueenX doing a wedding show for a member of his family. IT IS *NOT* about selling your stuff. There is a different topic for that.

Borg, good luck. Hope your show goes well and wows the guests. You've had a long road getting to this point.

Spacelilly, i promise to buy 3 different projectors from you. Just as long as I can *legally* use them in the USA *the moment* I receive them. Please provide the proper paperwork where I do not get a fine or jail in the United States.

You need a CDRH Varience that looks like this:
    http://www.fda.gov/downloads/aboutfd.../ucm080788.pdf

To get that applicaiton approved you need to submit a full product report on every projector model you want to import to the CDRH; google it. Every product report will be unique so I can't show you an example but it has to conform to 21cfr1040.10 and .11.

I basicly need advice to get the most out of this show, to make the most WOW! effect to the people who watch.

    Facts:
First point: no way i want to do a graphics show. It will be a beamshow.
No divergence control, so i guess no direct crowdscanning.
No smoke sensors that react on my fogger.
Its in a closed large room with a dancefloor, stage, and lots of seats and a bar.
I will tell a savety story before stsrting my projector.
I cant hang my projector to the ceiling. It has to be on the ground/table/stage ect.
Already got permission and "a go" from the wedding master and from the room boss.

    Ideas:
I now have a 500mw white rgb projector, although i can make it 1w if i turn up the 445nm, but this will ruinin my white balance.
My plan is to scan above the heads of the crowds, ofcource with some distance between beam and head. Although this messes up visibility i guess its the best way to go?
I want to place the projector on a table, on stage. Then scan with the upper part of the scan angle, and turn the other one down.
Its planned to be used during the time that everyone dances...but maybe i can ask to turn down or dim the lights for one song?

    Any other ideas and suggestions?
I got till the 25th this month, then it takes place.

Great man, i remember how we rebuilt all the parts from the other projector onto the plate. Great to see you will now do you first show.
Still haven't heard which software you will use, will you play 3 shows with music linked to the soundsystem ? Or will someone play music and will you do the lasers live ?

Curious to hear and great news man ! Bring a good cam and make pictures and movies (the best is with the camera mounted on a tripod to get a steady picture/movie).

I want to wish you good luck !
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.
