If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Dan, you either have a) too much time on your hands, or b) a library of retardoface images for every occasion.

    I know what i think...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

How much do you charge for BBQ's?

I could shout you a couple of burgers.

Seriously though, thanks for all of the advice.

Having seen Norty's video I think from a safety point of view I might try and go for:

    680mw 637
    1w 445 (turned down to 500mw)
    600mw 532

    Funds allowing.

That gives me twice as much red, 50% more green and the roughly the same blue as Norty.

    Just need to get saving!

What's the best way to proceed with smoking then, a fazer would seem best to me as they're just a continuous smoke machine aren't they?

They are, but the fans tend to not be big/strong enough to really put the fog where you want it.

    I use a big 20" fan and a fogger capable of 20,000cu ft/min volume.

Which fogger do you use Norty?

Does it have a timer and continuous output?

Also, what's the best smoke fluid for long time outdoors?

I use a Stairville SF1500 fogger with timer, continous and DMX if you want it. Very good value.

The best smoke fluid outdoors is the cheapest one. You will use so much of it on continuous fogging, the 'hang time' will be irrelevant, as it'll just be 'hanging' 3 miles downwind. In fact, the long hang fluid may even be counterproductive outdoors as the smaller particles will be more affected by the wind potentially (theoretically it sounds right)

If you are having a BBQ, try and place the BBQ upwind of the display area, you can use the smoke given off by that, even adding some new coals a bit in advance of the show. Bonfire with a few leaves will help too.

    Thanks.

How do you rate it? (I've never heard of Stairville it looks like a Thormann own brand).

I'm also wondering about the 3000 version as that's 40,000 CU Feet Min.

Do these do continuous output or just bursts and is the timer included?
