    Default Springs for GM-20

Anyone have a spare to sell/trade? Have one in need...saved from the scrap bin. There is an external spring option...just want to use for mirror actuator...no need for speed.

Take the thing to work, carefully unscrew the set screw at the bottom.. Press on the bearing frame at the shaft end with a press. Do not press the shaft alone, make a adapter that presses on the bearing and the shaft, but puts most of the force on the bearing. Allow both bearings and the shaft to come out. Be very shocked at what the spring is made of, you can order a meter of it for next to nothing. Silver soldering at low temperatures to maintain temper is your friend. Reverse the process and press at the other end when rebuilt. Selling rebuilt GM20s is unethical for a variety of reasons.

    Over and Out.
