Showtime 2000 Intro 5.03 no audio visible on timeline

Hi, just started to explore Showtime 2000 and first thing i wanted to try is to use a piece of music, .mp3 file, together with a show in ilda format. I would guess that if i put those together, save it as a show, i could use it in autoplay later on.
But,...
I start up Showtime. Open in the multimedia player the mp3 file and i don't see the audio waveform in the timeline.
If i start the show i hear the music play but from the tutorial on the pangolin site i would expect to see a waveform.
I took a show that came with the software and also there no wave form visible, should i install some kind of decoder?
If i view "scene" output i only see the frames on their tracks but no audio wave, also no timeline indicator, is this possible?
sorry for the newbie questions but my intuitive aproach isn't working so far.
Michel

Convert your .mp3 to a .wav file and use that instead to see the audio on the timeline.

ah, that did the trick, was wondering why some files did show up and others didn't, after investigating the help file, should have done this before posting this question, sorry for that, i found that the waveform timelin will only show wav files and does not work with cd, mp3 or any other type of media file.
