I suppose it is only a matter of time before it is a fully functional video projector.

I remember in the 80's having a Philips video projector that was about 1 metre cubed, it used 3 crt's and was basically a modified tv.

In the 90's the technology got a little better and I then changed to various Barco projectors, they too used crt's and were pretty large. You still see many of these in your local pub for showing football matches.

I now have 2 LCD projectors, an InFocus and a HP, both of these are tiny by comparison to the CRT projectors of yesteryear.

Maybe next Christmas I will have a pocket cinema

I did some googling but I couldn't get any decent information on HOW the mirror is moved. I found a few articles talking about some proof-of-concept work that Fraunhofer did a couple years ago, but I'm not sure if this is the same technology. (That older article mentioned that the mirror had springs to return it to the center position. Would probably be plenty fast for laser shows, but I'm not sure that would be fast enough for video, which was the original intended application.)

Oh, and WELCOME BACK YADDA! (How's the surfing been?)

I did not get it ?
Was it a laser, or is it a led lamp that produce all the colours ?

Even better... it encloses two lasers AND a new fast scanhead technology.

there is no picture of this stuff in work ?
    Do it really works... ?

I did have another idea of making a small projector (well maybe not so small)
But if I take a RGB (luxeon LED) focused at one DOT ..
So I point that into my galvo, and on the wall (20-60cm away) you will have ONE square DOT, with RGB colours..

So imagine that this is ONE pixel !
Then you move the galvo X and Y axis and you will have next pixel after the other
Then you just need a advanced software that tell the RGB LED what colours to have in EACH pixel, as the galvo move the pixel VERY VERY fast

Can that be done ?

That was some sort of what I did belived this works....

For a display of 640 x 480 that will give you 307200 pixels, so a 10Hz refresh would need 3Mpps, that is some fast galvo.
