Haven't heard 638nm red diode. But that price for 500mW, is it very easy to make it?

I would not recommend buying from this seller.. I tried to buy 100 pcs. of his 200mw 638's.. He promised me that he had thousands in stock, and that i could buy a few for testing, and the rest later.. i decided to take the chance and buy all 100 at once, and after i made the order, all of a sudden he didnt have any more in stock..

I know a friend of mine in Germany is testing a couple of them at the moment, and so far he didnt like his findings.. He has promised me more information, as the testing goes on, but i think he might have contacted the chinese guy and told him what his diodes really are, and that is why he dont want to sell them anymore..

As of yesterday several people have requested and been issued refunds because the 100mW and 120mW 638nm turned out to be 70mW 658nm. Testing of the 500mW diodes is still to come but it doesnt look good.

I bought some of the 500mw diodes from the same seller. Tested 2 and neither one produced even a flash of light. Working on getting a refund now.
