    I used to use Camstudio but as I mentioned above it seems to have problems with many of the codecs.

    Their own Lossless codec is excellent quality but can't be edited in I understand most Video editing programmes, certainly in Vegas which I have, which makes it kind of useless.

    Div X produced altered colours and wouldn't import into Vegas.

    Many of the other codecs produce poor quality picture.

    Of those that do work, and have decent quality, many suffer time slip on longer recordings ie once the recording goes over 4 or 5 minutes the video and sound go out of sync.

    I like Camstudio for its simplicity and the fact that's its free, but I've yet to find a practical way of using it myself.

    So after a little of research that what i would do... Watch this video

    Then use ffdshow encoder with H.264 and you should be good to go, i tested it myself and works fine... Let me know if you have some more questions. Btw all the links you can find in that youtube link. Here is the link for ffdshow http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/

    Thanks Hive, I'll donwload the codec and take another look at camstudio.

    BTW it says its a Tryout codec, does that mean its limited in some eg by time?

    Don't think so, but i am not 100% sure, let me do some more reading and i get back to that. Btw where did you read it was a tryout codec.

    It says it in your video clip.
