20A of bore or 20A of wall?
20A of bore is low idle, 488 only, and not too bad, but will require patience. It depends what optics set is in it.

The SP171 looks very similar to the 163/165/168 series. Is it a generation down the development cycle? The plasma tube looks nearly identical to the 168 but a lot longer.... would imply this thing can output more power for the buck.
I suspect he means 20A @ 208v 3~ from the wall, but judging from the bore current (50A) even that may be cutting it close. 50A at 220-something Volts of DC, plus magnet, means you need somewhere like 20-25kW of heat sinking power.
test post, why are my posts going way?

Hey Mr P -
No-need to have Steve ship those from Ohiolongwayaway, we've got 'em right here-o...*Unless* you were planning to pay Steve for his time / resources -
in that-case, do-that...I fully-support all 'Send Steve > SELEM V' campaigns...
I assume you already have worked-out the 480 and/or have a boost-tranny, on-site, there? Remember, (if you are going that route...) 20A on the meter will want to be (to be 'safe'...) on at least a 40-50A breaker @ 208... I'd say you'll want around 22-25A to realize a bit of 'decent' tuning-power... I would also be more than happy to walk you thru tuning from scratch / zero / way-out in space...
If you don't wanna drag that beastie down to Van Nuys to take 'er ALL the way up to full-current, that's cool, I understand - shoot Spec some gas $$, and we'll come up to yer lab and bring the docs and a tuning-fork.. :P Also: Got Pump? These want every *bit* of the 80psi, or, they-no-lite...
Lemme know, Dude...
