They probably aren't very useful for our applications because they are arrays, so you will have a very ugly beam. The fact that you can get blue VCSELs now is impressive however!

I also wonder what type of technology the green module they have is, if it is directly doubled it might be interesting to play with

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

so a beam of 0,15mm with 14 mrad divergence? could this become a beam of 1,5mm 1,4 divergence with a 10:1 telescope or ami getting this totaly wrong? any info on pricing?

maybe the fiber coupled module is of more interest

there seems to be a 5w 640 one too, http://www.pacer.co.uk/jkcm/default.aspx?pg=71

If that could be turned into a usable beam... and if not too expensive.. would be tha bomb!

even if you had to shave off a bunch of the beam, even getting 1W of 640 would be awesome

it would be usefull to have even a hint of pricing... no use daydreaming if this costs a few thousand monetary units of some sort

on another note, i think that 3w of 465 or 5w of 640 is enough motivation for the PL collective subconsious to start ticking and stirring in the darkness. just imagine getting 11watt of rgb and having only 3 diodes to align, fitting everythinig in a tiny box, and runing huge projections on the sides of buildings using just batteries (well, sort of )

the least i can take out of it, is that a powerfull green diode is getting nearer and nearer... ... ...

Just trim the entire beam with a circular aperture and a heatsink?
