Default Type fan for outdoor use?

    Hi guys,

I have to do an outdoor show soon. And i'm looking for a fan that i can use. But what is the best type of fan to use a radial fan of a axial fan. I know a axial fan spreads the smoke more but a radial fan can blow the smoke over a longer distance. So where do you go for?

Whatever you can get your hands on !

Radial fans are a pig to lug around but you get a great "burst!" effect with them.

I got a "little" axial fan http://www.fritz-events.nl/shop/Admi...t-p-19462.html but it has not enough power for outdoor use. I found now this one http://www.dryfast.nl/index2.php?opt...ge=0&Itemid=25 for about 330 euro. Or is a cheap one from a b-showmanufacture good enough?

That's what I earlier did. I contacted some local installation companies if they had second hand fan's but so far whit no result.

Mccarrot, do you know what the airflow of de skytec is? Because I cant find those spec's online. If i search for similar items ( http://www.pls-nederland.nl/overview.asp?cat=626 ) I found out that he airflow is more then a third lower then the dryfast and that for 30 euro's diverence.

Just compare the kW or HP (pk) power is what moves the air.

Everything around the 1kw or 1hp will have enoug power for outdoor use.

An ebay search for "Bouncy Blower" usually works, I picked up a 1.5KW bouncy castle inflator for £20!

    Moves a lot of smoke!
