Cooling fans added for the AVI Omniscan card rack. Cutting 4.5inch holes in aluminum plate is a challenge. The card rack runs alot cooler now.

Karl and Swami came very close to getting the red diode working. I supplied the Ginger Ale, Pizza and Pirate Jokes. Since there were no ladies around it is perfectly acceptable to drill holes in the kitchen and fling metal shards everywhere because there are no such rules preventing this behavior.

WOW, that is just spectacular guys! I know it's a lot of work, but it's paying off nicely. I can only dream of a presentation like that. Keep up the great work.

Adding cooling fans to the HGM8, right next to the transistor passbank.

I have not run any shows lately because it's been 115+ degrees in Phoenix these past few days.

Ugg, I know what you mean. I really need to get a little water cooled single phase argon for my office. My A/C just barely keeps up with the air cooled argon on idle.

I finally scraped up enough cash to get the crimper tool I need to work on the STP. I am shocked how much these tools cost new/retail. I find the same types of connectors on these projectors that are used for aerospace / military applications, making it a challenge to restore them. I wait until I can find a good deal. The Dow solvent and adhesives I need for high voltage connections are expensive too. I recently bought another AMP (now, Tyco) crimper tool on eBay for about $75 used that sells for over a grand on Mouser/Allied.

Covering up the windows to keep neighbor's back yard floodlamps from washing out my stars. I am using 1/2 inch plywood with velcro tape around the back edge, and when pushed into place, it sticks to the window frame. The goal will be to get it pitch dark in here, at least at night. As an added bonus, it will keep any stray laser light from exiting the windows and producing a potential complaint.

The Minolta control console sprang to life today after spending a few hours tracing wires. The sun is going down as coordinates fill the room, and the stars are already burning. Getting ready to fire up the Omniscan and leave the planet for awhile.
