    This build is over 12 months in the planning and collecting, at last all the puzzle pieces have been procured so the build begins!

    Specs:
    445nm <= 1300mW PBS corrected Blue
    532nm = 476mW CNI Green
    660nm = 1300mW quad Red
    DT-30 galvos
    GM20 Shutter
    Stanwax ILDA board
    Mr Willing/Edison case with Edmunds front glass
    Quickshow 2.0/FB3

    Started today by finalizing the electronics layout, drilling and tapping. Quite relaxing.

    Hey wayne, could you post a link for the two power supplies? especially the 12v/5v one

    nice clean build so far, lots of space there, i really like it!
    did you go the extra mile to isolate everything electrically from the baseplate. or there is no need for it?

    may i also suggest you turn the dt driver boards 90 degrees so that you have easier access to the trim pots?
    you will have to tune those galvos at some point...

    plus, if you need some reduced height, that cni driver can be talen off the heatsink and screwed straight onto the baseplate

    Hi mate. The 24V supply is as shipped with the DT30's. The 12/5V supply is this one: http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp...SUBCATID=999#3

    Meh. I based the layout on thermal efficiency. Dave assures me the DT-30 amps don't need adjusting.

    Hi Wayne,

    This will be fun to follow as I have many of the same parts and am just about ready to start the same process. Pictures are good things!
    Nervously drilling that first hole will be a BIG step.

    Hi Wayne,
    2.5 watts... Niiiiice. It's about time we saw some full colour wattage
    On the west coast. I'm taking my sweet ass time.

    Keen to see your progress.

    Thanks for the first of many pics I hope.

    lucky you, I bought new drills and taps and then I bought this to be sure...

    i did some research on taps and i think that hand taps are not too good, thinking to switch to spiral point taps and spiral flute taps (for blind holes)

    i suppose around the begining of september i should start posting my own "proper" build pics.

    I have a drill press too, but try drilling holes near the center of the optical plate!!!

    Wiring almost complete, just waiting on a GM20 driver and wiring the keyswitch and remote safety wiring.

    I followed Bill's wiring guide, hence the "star ground" I kludged together with vero board. Works well, I tested the scanners with 532nm and I have a rock stable ILDA test pattern!!!

    Tomorrow, I'll mount all the optics and post more then.

    Looks like you have spent some quality time in the bat cave.

    Good to see you are back in the zone mate.

    Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

    When I'm back in Perth for more than a day hopefully we can catch up.

    Thanks for the pics.

    Kit
