    Default Rods and Cones

During my last show, a spectator (my wife) remarked that the blue beam (445) looked almost "gray" as she put it. Taking in consideration that we were also watching a *very colorful* fireworks show, I was interested in this lack of color in the 445 beam. Stumbling across this chart today I was pondering the cause possibly being the the rod/ cone activity is almost identical at the 445nm mark. Thoughts anyone?

I am wondering if it was more to do with the eye/brain sneakey auto white balance tricking your wives thinkery due to the overall colour balance of the fireworks?

If I dont make any sense, it will be because I am still awake at 2am after a BS 11 hour work day. Can't sleep....

Interesting topic steve-o. It would be nice if the human perceptual system was that simple. I found this article that might shed some light (no pun intended, I tend to speak in cliches).
