laser audio and laser radio project

I am trying to make a 2 way laser communications system. it wont be professional by any standards. but if it works i will be more than happy.
i have already looked at a few amateur radio websites and am getting an idea on what i need to build a system or if i want to use a kit to build something like this. but any help on what i should do or suggestions on what i should use to make this would be greatly appreciated. i haven't found exact parts like for the receivers or something i can modify to work how i would like so anything would be useful.

lol thats funny the whole point of the project is to use lasers yes i know there is more efficient ways of doing it but that is not the point. this is something i want to do as a project and am just asking for help on what i should lbe doing or if anyone has some sortive plans that might help.

not looking to buy a system unless it is something cheap and i would probably take apart and modify to use different lasers. still looking for any suggestions.

I just started a similar project. The modulation frequencies are low and I am sending digital data.

Your setup can be as simple as a modulated laser and a solar cell.
