Hope everyone's ok.. I was sitting having lunch in Chesapeke City, MD when the Virginia earthquake hit.
The shock lasted for about 30 to 45 seconds and a very loud crowd became very silent as the building shook.

That was nuts! Kind of cool and scary at the same time.... I always wanted to experience an earthquake (minus the devestation)
Felt it here in Charlotte, NC
Was home eating lunch and I thought someone hit my house with a car.
My wife is 2 miles away and didn't feel a thing.
Weird. First one I've ever felt. A little disconcerting.
I have never experienced an earthquake before. Ironically, I am in California on business this week so I missed my chance.
I'm in San Diego.
We've had 2 here in the Uk albeit much smaller than yours. I think ours were about 3.5.
Both were in the night. The thing I remember most was the roar like a train coming for the 1st one before the actual quake arrived. You could hear it in the distance getting louder.
Worst thing with the 2nd one was I didn't realise what was happening as it woke me up. At 1st didn't know where I was then when everything was moving I was kind of disorientated as I couldn't work out if I was still 1/2 asleep and imagining the movement or if it was for real.
Glad no-one got hurt over there.
According to the news there was just an aftershock about an hour ago that was only slightly less intense than the original quake. Anyone care to update us ?
I think I read somewhere that the quake it Japan was 40.000 times bigger :P
