Positive Light Indigo 193nm laser
I have spent the last 2 weeks collecting pieces of a Positive Light (recently bought by Coherent) Indigo laser, which is Newport Velocity ECDL laser running at ~770nm, amplified by a Ti:saph amplifier (which is pumped by a Coherent Evolution 15w q-switched 527nm doubled Nd:YLF laser), which is ultimately doubled then quadrupled to get an wapping 2mw of 193nm. The system has definitely been pawed through, it looks like both of the doubler crystals (from 770->385nm and 385->193nm) are gone, and a lot of the optics are no longer bolted down.
Also, the Newport Picomotor mounts that were used for all of the tuning of the doubler section and the Velocity laser sold for more than I was willing to pay, which isn't too big of a loss since I do not really have any use for q-switched 385 or 193nm light. If I decide to stick with the amplifier configuration I will probably switch over to a ~780nm DFB laser that I have instead.
The good news is that the Evolution laser is complete, and the Ti:Saph crystal along with most of its optics are still there
So as long as it doesn't go through the same hell that my last big yag did, it should at least be possible to at least get large quantities of green out of it.
What I was mainly after is the Evolution laser, which appears to be more or less in tact judging by the auction pictures. I will get a better look at what is going on when the shipment comes in next week, but in the mean time I am in the information gathering stage.
The questions I have right now are mainly toward getting the evolution fired up, which is going to require plumbing it into my chiller, wiring up the newport 5801 quad laser diode driver, the watlow anafase temp controller for the diodes, the watlow 96 LBO heater, and the intraaction QE-2750B q-switch driver. I have found manuals for the temp controllers and the q-switch driver, but not for the diode driver. Looking around I think that it might have a custom part number, but I heard rumors of a manual floating around for it, do any of you have a copy of it? I am also hoping that since I got the controllers from the same lot as the laser they will have all of the pid values set correctly, but that could take a while to get working correctly if they were wiped
So far the only info I have found in the Evolution was a thread that Ben had put up at http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...ight=evolution but it doesn't look like it ever fired up, which is a little worrisome.
Stay tuned for updates

So you're the one who outbid me
I have the manual for the Positive light laser diode driver... well it's not really a manual but a page or two of rs-232 commands. It's easy to get it working. I have been planning on making a simple aurdino controller for mine. It's easy to have the aurdino send the commands rather than having it connected to a computer.
I have a complete evolution minus the case, well actually a pile of parts but all in mint condition. I have yet to fire it up though... Send me your email and I can give you a copy of the driver manual.

I hope you can manage to get yours working! I will update this thread when the laser arrives (it is being trucked across the country so it could be a while)
