Default Idea for portable laser light show

I was wondering what you guys felt about the concept of a vector-MEMS laser light show (either G or RGB) thats battery powered?

Would this be capable of displaying abstracts in a similar way to a set of galvo's?, also what is the divergence like?

I enjoy making abstracts using Pangolin's LD2000, QS Software, and more recently the new 'Beyond' software. The problem I have is that if I design them sat at my office desk using the laser preview window in the software, when I connect my projector up the results rarely look like they do on screen as there is no persistence of vision with a screen display like there is with a laser. My projector is just too big and powerful (and noisy from the fans) to use in my small home office.

I would be interested in a small RGB laser solution that allowed me to preview my abstracts in real time in my office. It would have to be small and very quiet. Projection would probably be between 1 and 2 meters maximum.

Are you thinking of hacking one of the new Pico projectors?

    Cheers

    Jem

P.S. Any chance you could fill out your location in your profile?

Yes, which of the pico projectors would be best to use, and how well would it work for vector scanning?

I haven't a clue. I thought you were going to tell me that

You will not be able to do vector with a pico mems device. And getting control over the RGB, especially the green is not going to be trivial.

Ah, ok. That's my hopes dashed then

I guess I'll have to look down other avenues for my mini projector.

Thanks, i'll look forward to it

Looks to be a nice little unit, no idea of the cost though...and... I notice the distributor is Laserworld Switzerland.
