Newbie looking for info on software and Lasers!

I have found LSX easier to use than LD2000 as it follows more of a traditional video editor layout wise and tool access. Just my 2 cents, the expression power is there but also presets as it comes to just use.

Sorry to thread jac but if you had to chose what one to buy as there are around the same price but lsx comes with ild sos.
What one would you go with?
Any one own both spaghetti and LSX able to comment on what ones best.

Hey Mike, welcome to PL.

As others have said, the best low budget options will be Pangolin QuickShow on FB3, LSX on various DACs, and Spaghetti on several DACs.

The main thing you need to think of is the steps you will need to take to get your laser projector CDRH compliant and legal for doing public laser shows. This forum is definatly the place to be for this info; just prepare yourself for a detailed process for getting your equipment legal if you do not purchase a compliant projector directly.

Welcome to PL! Gonna find TONS of info here and feel free to ask all the questions you want!!

You are located in the U.S., so you are going to have to deal with the variance process if you plan to use your system in a public venue.

You have some great outlets of information here and also some great manufacturers (myself included) that can get you into a system while providing you *LEGAL* and most importantly, SAFE quality systems.

Try to set yourself a budget. Keep in mind, *GOOD* systems and *LEGAL* systems are going to cost more than the blinkie twinkie Ebay crap lights. If your budget is relatively lower ($5000 or less) I would suggest contacting X-Lasers (they are on here). they provide very good quality certified and varianced Laser systems that can get you going for average size shows.

If your budget is more toward the "professional" end, ($5000+) I can try to price out a system for you. I am *NOT* saying that the X-Lasers systems arent professional. They are. Their systems are just geared a little bit more toward the "mobile Dj" rig or "turn on and forget about" type of Laser display.

As far as software, You have some good suggestions above. However, some of the comments i am sure have confused the HELL out of you! lol. All of the softwares listed above are good choices. I think however, for a beginner, most people will tell you that Quickshow with the FB3 is going to be your best bet. If you are looking for "free" or as cheap as possible, (not cheap as in quality, cheap as in affordability) than Spaghetti may be your choice. LSX- to be quite honest, i have NO idea of pricing options but have heard many good things about the system.

Quickshow really seems to be the industry norm and standard.
