Thumbs up Pangolin FB3-XS Vs FB3-QS

I just wondering what more you get, if upgrading from the "Old" FB3-SE (XS) to the new FB3 QS controller
If you are using QS 2

    Higher scanning speed ?
    Better blanking ?

    Any experience

Have you reached the limits of either of those then?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Yes and no !
QS 2 is "Only" give us 30K scanning speed, and todays scanning galvos is higher han 30K at a given angel
So if we want more flicker free frames in advanced frames (text and Grafiks), then the controller and SW neds to be faster.
Yes i know most ILDA files is only build for 30K.

FB3QS has higher PPS output capability and more color channels available

it also does not have an xD card in it IIRC

    Hello Kenneth,

Please email me (Justin@Pangolin.com) to discuss this. You can also check out this page on the Pangolin website for more information:

I always thought that the limitation was purely software based, not hardware. I'm sure an SE/XE board is capable of more than 30kpps and whatever that would equate to on modulation.
I use LivePro and it allows higher than 30k speeds on both my SE and QS boards.

Yes this is correct. And as a note, the FB3-XE has been discontinued - We only have 3 remaining in stock, for customers who specifically request it. After these three are gone,
production will completely stop on the XE model. It has been replaced with the FB3-QS.

the point count maybe but the color channels no... the FB3-SE/XE actually has a 4th color channel output hidden away, but its not electrically connected and the software does not talk to it

i would like to know how to make qs scan a little faster, bill did say it can be people only think qs is limited to 30k and said if you change the vector settings you can go faster
but as yet i have not found what needs changing , i only want to up it 5kpps to smooth out a few frames
and i know dt40's are happy with 35kpps

    any ideas anyone ??
