    Default FB3.net

Did I read on this forum that Pangolin are planning an FB3.net piece of hardware that serves multiple projectors over ethernet? How good is this rumour?

Reason I ask is that one of my FB3s went la-la on tour last week, but I would prefer to invest in FB3.net if it were really happening kinda soonish. Balanced with a desire to buy Beyond

The rumor is a good one but I have no idea on a timeline; Bill spoke a little about it at SELEM. The most I know about it is that it will house and utlize up to three FB3s in it. If you are really interested I would hit Justin up using the contact form on our website.

Just wondering, I know this is an old thread, but is there any news on this?

Pango's website mentioned it was due for release around Q4 2012... so about now then
Would be really handy to know if/when this is coming before deciding on more FB3's or going with something else ethernet capable...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

It's on it's way as far as I'm aware, it has a name(s), but as with a lot of Pangolin stuff it competes with other priorities.
Drop Bill an email and see where they're at currently is my advice. Then add 6 months

It's been a few months since I last broached it with him.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Hmmm... annoyingly, I've got money to spend now... probably won't have in 6 months time
Think I'll drop an email to Pango Towers and see if there's news...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

I think if you want it now you're going to have to go another route. Either look at an alternative way (USB extender) or a different DAC solution.

From some brief conversations I have had with Bill, there will be 2 solutions at some stage.

The FB3.net, which will be known as the Gemini - a single board computer to carry out processing for FB3's which are plugged in to slots in it,

    or

The FB4, which will be a OEM board similar to a FB3SE, but with network

    Exciting times ahead!

You can also ask Francesco (from Pangolin european office) about a new USB extender which works great with up to 4 FB3 at 120kpps.
They did a lot of tests to find one that works correctly, and apparently only one did the job perfectly.
