I take it you have CCTV on your house Andy.
It looks from the clip as thought eh guy did a runner. I'm guessing drunk.
Did anyone manage to catch up with him and get a number plate?
BTW Andy, insurance company should give your wife a hire car.
yep cctv at my house, indeed was a hit and run.
sadly the car is a write off
no nuber plate

Don't give up just yet Andy. Isn't there someone local that you can hitch a lift with?

bad luck andy, there are some fuckers in the world, cant work out why that driver was even on that side of the road
any way . you might struggle to get insurance company to pay out, parking opposite a junction, or dont be suprised if they try it
wont insurance company give you a courtasy car ?
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.
Was your handbrake off Andy? Clio went a long way up the road.
Dunno about a write off, looks like it'll polish out

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Andy, don' tknow the roads around you but are there any business or houses around the ends of your road that have CCTV?
If so it might be worth asking if you can see their footage 1st thing Monday morning.
The van is pretty distinctive so all you need is premises with CCTV looking along either your road or the roads leading into it and the time and you may be able to catch the van turning in and also therefore the number plate from their angle.
BTW there is another kind of CCTV set up you could try on your house that uses still picture capture.
Advantage is that unlike CCTV which captures at 30fps at very low quality due to high compression, the still capture system uses a DSLR usually and captures 2 or 3 fps but at full DSLR resolution and quality making for very good frame detail and the ability to blow pictures up large to retrieve details like number plates. Never tried it myself, but always fancied trying it.
I found this web page a long time ago. I know nothing about them so proceed with all the usual caution for an unknwon site:
