    Well said Nige
And I recommend exactly what Jem says - leave as long as you can but 20-30mins will suffice.

ive put it on for 20-30 minutes and trying to remove it with regular tape. the tape seems to have no effect on removing the first contact from the galvo's.
also i do not see any red stuff on it.
ive tried turning on my lasers to see if it didnt drop off or something but i cant call this lasers anymore. its one big blob that comes out of the galvo's.
I didnt use alot of the first contact on the galvo's. i hope another 10 minutes will make it easy to remove else im in trouble.

EDIT: the extra 10 minutes did its job

    Ah, Patience is a virtue

As I mentioned previously... "I have found that the longer you leave it the easier it is to remove".

I've had this problem, I had to leave it overnight.

Also removing from the edge of the optic makes it easier..

The only thing I will say is that on one set of FS mirrors the first contact would not come off at all, even after days - eventually when I managed to peel up a corner of it, it took the reflective coating right off.

I explained this to the chaps at the LEM and the general feeling (and I suspected as much) was that it was a cheap shit optic.

FYI, it was mirrors on a set of Scanpro 30's if I recall correctly.. I keep meaning to order a new set.. ho hum.

I gently touch a small piece of tape to the corner of the optic I'm cleaning and the First Contact peels right off.
