    Default DVD RED diode salvage

Hey I was wanting to put som extra PUNCH to my 100mw red laser in my projector. With a DVDRW having a 1 watt 635nm diode in it, I wondering if it worth putting it into the same heatsink being that the diodes are the same size. the pump circut can drive with ttl up to 1.75A @3vdc...
The red in my projector has always looked pawltry compaired to the 435nm@300mw and the 532nm at 150mw. but I have the pump cranked on the red and padded down on the other two to make white look correct.
    Suggestions?

DVDRW drives don't have 635nm diodes, nor do they have 1W diodes. The best you can get is ~300mW 660nm diode. It would still be worth your time to replace your red, though.

My biggest question is power ratios.. for Green, Red and Blue.... thanks for the NM clarification.

well, if you use 660nm, you get close to white with around 4:1:1 (red, green, blue)

the closer you go to 635, the closer to 1:1:1 this ratio gets
    "its called character briggs..."
