This is my son, Sean Martin's first lead role in a film. It's a short film based on a short story by T.C. Boyle.

the trailer doesn't tell much of the story, which is about Damaso - a kid who doesn't feel pain - and the triangular relationship between Damaso, his father, and the village doctor.

and yes, those were real scorpions. Sean and that one on his arm ran that scene for almost 5 minutes. Even the scorpion handler was amazed at how much control Sean had over that scorpion...

yep, that's my boy! with the scorpions and skewers and scars.

2 hours a day in a make-up trailer in a hot and humid Puerto Rico June... for 3 weeks.

they are starting the full length feature next spring.
