Default Any interest in 1,6W 445nm NDB7875 Nichia diode?

    Hi guys!

Some days ago I found the new 1,6W 445nm laser diode (DATASHEET) on Nichias site. I contacted them and got a reply today. For a single diode the price is JPY300000/each.
For more diodes there will be a large discount depending on quantity.

Anybody interested in? If so, we may start a group buy.

Hehe, I think a groupbuy is going to need to be in the 100K quantities to get any reasonable discount.

Interesting, it appears they have integrated lasorb..

I think the price can be droped to several hundred dollars for quantities of >50 diodes.

With the NDB7412 available for <$50 in single quantities I doubt you’re going to get 50 units sold for several hundreds. The integrated protection circuit (lasorb made under license or own technology?) and improved specifications look interesting. Specially the increased operating case temperature can be useful for video projectors

I wonder when we are going to see projectors with these in them? LOL, maybe the 9mm diode housings I have sitting on the shelf might get a use after all!

well dave, if you can't find any use for them, drill a 10,5 hole in them and fit a pointer core, for a mini green one

I agree. Unless they're in projectors its just to much money. But otherwise I would be all for it cause I love blue!!

The price will not go down even if you order 500. Nichia has strange price politics, I doubt that they sell any diode for these prices nowadays.
