Spec is the grand master of PL last check and is greatly underappreciated IMO. He calls himself "the Janitor" because he is always workijng on the nuts and bolts of this forum to keep it running smoothly (at his expense AFAIK) and cleaning up the messes here. So WE DO HAVE an ADMIN. He just chooses (I believe) to stay behind the scenes for the most part and not get involved with pissing flame wars like this one.

I meant we have an ADMIN and he should be the only one giving ultimatums and that there are no moderators so power would only be with him.

    oh fuck...here we go again....

oh fuck...never mind.... it aint worth my time....

Bottom line- You guys knock it off with the Allen bashing or I may go delete all of my useful posts such as the optics cleaning ones and the ones in which I have given useful variance advise. Steve may do something similar if this continues. Which one of you wants to continue this bashing and ruin it for all other PL members?

You and steve taking your toys and going home home??? childish... What ever... Threats??? Wow.... what a new low - grow the fuck up.

I reserve the right to think and say anything i want to, help him if you want to, i will not waste my time helping him, he didnt listen, maybe you will have better luck.

2 x 4 burning??? controlled environment...EYEWEAR??? try sticking your finger in 50 watts q-switched because you cant see the beam...i repeat...fuck it.

Oh.... Back to his laserscope- He has rented the unit out to a few pro light show companies for use with their own projectors, with no complaints or issues, and has other rentals lined up for the future as well.

How the fuck can he introduce into commerce a non varianced laser? IF it was modified, it needs to be certified...

fuck it...i dont care, are you defending him because you get a special deal on rentals??? fuck it...i dont care.

And the question of how he can introduce into commerce a non varianced laser? Quite easy. It was an OEM laser source rented to a company that was using it on a varianced projector that is allowed to incorporate an OEM source of that power and wavelength under the terms of their variance. No, not myself, and I wont name names, but my old laserscope was rented to one of the same people, legally. Because the OEM source was linked to the certified laser projector and would not function without the laser projectors interlock circuitry, it was not a "stand alone" laser system and therefore it was legally an OEM laser source, not a Laserscope brand laser.

You cant just start manufacturing OEM lasers...now can you...I assure you he can not legally introduce for sale or rent "introduce into commerce" any laserscope or modified laserscope in his possession...Does he have OEM Manufacturing certification to satisfy the NCDRH??? ( insert a swarm of crickets here)

legal mumbo jumbo loopholes - i have a tad of experience in this area. A SP 168 is certified as an OEM component of a VARIANCED END product PRIOR TO SHIPPING from the OEM MANUFACTURER. Can you prove me wrong?

    where to begin...

a-The medical version is certified to operate as documented within the conditions of the certification.
b-If a certified unit is modified in any form, it needs to be re certified.
c-An OEM unit is also required to be certified PRIOR to introduction into commerce. (his unit has not been certified as an OEM with the CDRH) correct me if im wrong...but you better have proof. The OEM designation is for incorporation into certified systems (here is where your loophole is filled)

Just because your variance states that you can use and incorporate a OEM in to your certified, varianced projector skirts the spirit of the law by finding loopholes in the verbiage. Now with all that said...Ill be happy to review any photographs of "his certified OEM laser" incorporated "into" your varianced projector and review the interlock, labeling and emission indicators to reassure myself that it was all done...correctly... I will be especially interested in the light safe enclosure.

keep in mind ive been doing this a long time, loopholes are why real criminals dont go to prison. I was born at night...but not last night.

    anyway...i digress...

I would also be pretty pissed off if someone would question your experience.

In the spirit of sharing when can we expect this? It would be nice to see the work needed prior to buying one then trying to find the right willing people to help you.
