Default Coherent Innova 12 Watt Argon Ion Laser model I-70A

R&D was scrapping this laser at work so I took it home, who wouldn’t, right? Since then I’ve started building a solid state RGB projector and caught a beam in the eye with < 1 watt and that was enough to scare me to the point that I’d like to see this beast go a more seasoned laserist. Plus its 3-phase so it’s not practical for a hobbiest.

I never saw the unit work; our R&D department claimed it did, the company we borrowed it from said to just send back optics and scrap the laser upon completion of the R&D project. Looks like the tube has very high hours according to the hour meter, that’s probably why they wished to junk it.

And my wife wants it out of the house. I’d like to avoid the shipping hassle; I live the greater Chicago land area. PM an offer if you are interested! Open for trade or even for just spending a bit of time with a like-minded laserist to look at my projector build, I’m not selling it to make money.

Default Wheels for my Laser / Ode to the Innova

Goodbye gashead, you will be missed! Well I tried for two years and could not even give this monster away for free; logistics never quite worked out.
So I got tired of having the rear garage door blocked and rolled her out to the curb for our village's annual 'fall clean up' where the G-men pick up almost anything.
Rolled her out and went back into the house to make a warning sign for it stating 'heavy' and explaining what it really is and contains cuz I wanted to be a good citizen. No need to put Waste Management workers in harms way.

By the time I got back outside the garbage pickers already grabbed her, probably for scrap metal LOL.

Attached are a couple of pictures, sorta gives a man closure to the idea of lasing with watts of Argon gas....

So the power supply and keyswitch pendandt are still in the basement in case that ever helps any of you out of a jam. Let me know. Maybe I'll just use the pendandt for a keyswitch for my solid state RGB for fun....

    Have a great weekend,

    -J

If you still have the remote,Id take it. It should match one of the PSUs I have for a I-60.
