not to worry .. I shall hope mixedgas manages to come up with something ...
The sockets on the back are RS232 9 pins, DTE, so I'll dig out my null-modem leads and see if I can get it to chat, probably 9600-N-8-1 as its from '96.
Got a paper manual coming, don't know if it will be the full service info though. I have the pinouts of the various handpieces now, if anyone needs them for fooling one into believing its got a fibre on the end.

Oh well, it seems after all that "you have to tell me about yourself, then I reveal the secrets", rather like the tube of an ion laser, mixedgas was full of hot gas ...
