After having done a great lasershow on Friday, see the post Michel made, i returned yesterday evening.
Upon driving home i immediately noticed something was wrong. The turbo in my Audi A4 which normally kicks in around 2000-2500 rpm didn't kick in anymore. Went up the highway, light of the glowplugs went on (diesel, so no sparkplugs...) Went off immediately, stopped. Called the Dutch Wegenwacht (emergency car service). They tried my car, said"Drive in front of me to the closest gas station". After 400m the car was undrivable, no power at all. A poof of smoke and RIP turbo (in this case RIP means Rest in Pieces). Damn.
The turbo sucked up all the engine oil in the exhaust.... so hopefully the fins are still on the turbowheel. The repair said: You still have pressure. So hopefully the fins arent broken off and sucked into the intercooler.
Got a replacement car since i have the "DeLuxe" service, i am allowed to drive this car till tomorrow morning.
So just when you thought your were shit out of luck, i drove the replacement car on the motorway today and a truck didn't see me and hit me in the side.
"Yeah sorry, didn't see you"... MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN O REALLY ?
So within 24 hrs i blew up my turbo on my own car and got the left side smashed on the other replacement/rental car.
Filled in all the paperwork.
I am really up shit creek now, since i was to pick up Daniel friday after work from the Airport.
So i will now rent a car for a few days or see if Michel and i can work something out for the LEM, if i am are not able to replace the turbo and clean intercooler and hoses with my nephew.
My nephew is a car mechanic and will repair this but will probably take some days (and cost some moneys too...)
SO i feel a bit depressed now, i am totally fine, no damage to myself but sad.
Since i really believe that for every bad thing happening to me some good things must happen later, there will be lots of good times in store for me (hopefully involving ladies or lasers, or a combination of both...)
Better that it happened 200km from home instead of in the UK 800km plus from home ;-)
Looking forward to the Ilpendam LEM, things can only go uphill from here i think. (and hope)
So i will be picking up Daniel from Schiphol and will be @ the LEM. No stinkin' turbo can keep me away from the LEM damnit !
