Default 640nm 500mw Cni laser question.

Wondering if anyone else has one of these? I bought one a few days ago and have a question about it. When on I can see 2 beams coming out of it in like the first 2 feet of the beam, after 2 feet it really is not noticeable anymore. This is my first laser of this type so don't know if its supposed to be like this or not.

Perfectly normal. They are multi-diode lasers therefore there is probably (if done right) 4 diodes being knife edged then PBS'd together. Seeing multiple beams at aperture is perfectly normal.

Okay, thats what I thought but never having one before wanted to check before to much time goes buy. Probably sit on the shelf for a while till I get a few more odds and end pieces for my projector.

Yeah think its 4 diodes, can see the pbs cube inside of it. For some reason it doesnt have any glass on the square where the laser exits.
