    With 200 petawatts of power?.
    I don't think so.
    Burn?
    Disintegrate maybe.
    BTW what is a petaWatt?

    Cheers,

    LOL!

    I did some calculations,

with a 200 Petawat laser with a 3mm beam and 1mRad divergence, the distance for a safe MPE (2,5mW/cm2) will be 3200000KM

If you put this laser on the moon to audiance scan the earth you will still be exceeding the MPE by 80.000x

If you audiance scan from mars you will be ok.

That could be the biggest dance party ever, the whole earth scanned in one go (or more correctly 1 side of the earth unless of course you used a bounce mirror!)

Be great to see this in a club though. Dance floor gets too crowded, turn the laser on, and its empty again, ash aside of course!

Having read the article, they are going to have to keep its location incredibly secret. Otherwise every villain looking for world domination is going to be wanting to use it to cut their own secret agent in half...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
