Default How much for a song license?

How much is a song license? For example i want to use someone's copyrighted song, how much do i pay for that and is it usally permanent or is it one-time usage?

Maybe i want to start a little business and im curious at this.

try and reach the distributors of the music.
If there is a way to find/reach them.

If possible look for a single dj and contact him and say it's for a lasershow.
    It's not an easy task.
I also am looking for collaborations with DJ's/producers from time to time.

Oh I really have no clue there.
some producers (not famous dj's like armin van buren but the lower class) are happy that you use their music for a lasershow.4
Approaching a more famous dj or producer is already not too easy (perhaps their manager) and I bet their prices are not decent I'm afraid

Even if you succeed then you might have to pay by the amount you distribute it to

You need to contact a licensing firm like ASCAP or BMG. you can usually pay for a "Pay to Play" license which is like a blanket fee for almost all music. i dont know if thats available over in NL or not. Here (in the U.S.) its approx. $500-$750 (IIRC) a year and allows you to use pretty much any music for broadcast. As long as you ar enot selling the artists work and are only using the music for public broadcast.

Just wondering what type of business plan you have then if $500 out front is too much to spend. One show should easily cover you lic cost for the year and then some.

Well it seems pretty obvious that in that case the buma fees are already covered.
I think you're confusing rights to play a song with the rights to distribute a song.
